Glorious Mysteries

The Glorious Mysteries are the fourth set of mysteries of the Rosary: the Resurrection, the Ascension, the Descent of the Holy Spirit, the Assumption of Mary, and her Coronation as Queen of Heaven and earth. They lead us from the empty tomb to the glory Christ has prepared for His faithful, and they strengthen the virtues of faith, hope, and love of heaven.

The Glorious Mysteries are traditionally prayed on Wednesdays and Sundays, and they are especially fitting during Eastertide and on feasts like the Ascension, Pentecost, and the Assumption (August 15). For each mystery, announce it, pray one Our Father, ten Hail Marys, and a Glory Be, and think of the scene and its fruit, listed below.

The Glorious Mysteries of the Holy Rosary: 1. The Resurrection — Fruit of the Mystery: Faith. 2. The Ascension — Fruit of the Mystery: Hope. 3. The Descent of the Holy Ghost — Fruit of the Mystery: Love of God. 4. The Assumption of Mary — Fruit of the Mystery: Grace of a Happy Death. 5. The Coronation of Mary — Fruit of the Mystery: Trust in Mary's Intercession. Pray each decade with an Our Father, ten Hail Marys, and a Glory Be, rejoicing in the glory of Jesus and Mary.
