A Beginner's Guide to the Divine Office: How to Pray the Liturgy of the Hours

Always wanted to pray the Liturgy of the Hours but found the breviary confusing? This printable guide (17 pages, US Letter) explains in plain words what the Hours are, how every hour is built, how to use the ribbons in a breviary, and a three-month plan to begin.

Then it gives you three simple hours you can pray tonight, using the psalms and canticles of the Douay-Rheims Bible: a Morning Prayer with Psalm 62 and the Benedictus, an Evening Prayer with Psalm 112 and the Magnificat, and Night Prayer (Compline) with Psalms 4, 90 and 133, the Nunc Dimittis and the Hail, Holy Queen. A one-month tracker is at the back. Paintings by Fra Angelico.

This is an introduction for beginners, not a breviary; it does not reproduce the official text of any edition of the Liturgy of the Hours.
